30 years ago on the 11th of July 1989, the governing Council of the United Nation development program recommended that 11th July observed by the international community as World Population day, a day aim to raise awareness on various population issues such as gender inequalities, poverty, maternal health, human rights, as well as family planning.

World population day is outgrowth of the interest generated by 1987 5 billion day event which took place on the same day ‘’the 11th of July ‘’and marked the movement when the world population reached at 5 billion people.
Every year there is a specific theme for World Population Day and the theme of World Population Day 2022 is “A world of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all - Harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all.”

· We have been gifted with a beautiful world and the onus to protect it and pass it on to the coming generation lies on our shoulders. Let’s take this oath today!
