Basant Panchami Celebration

We at Shree H. J. Gajera English Medium School, Primary Section, Katargam celebrated the auspicious occasion of ‘Vasant Panchami’ on Wednesday 25th January, 2023 which marks the onset of the ‘Spring Season’.

The festival ‘Vasant Panchami’ which is also known as ‘Saraswati Pooja’ owes its origin to the birth of goddess Saraswati, the symbol of knowledge and wisdom, to pay reverence and humble obeisance.

A special assembly was conducted for the students of Grade 1st, 2nd and 3rd where the atmosphere was full with devotion and prayers. It commenced with the Saraswati Pooja while garlanding the idol of ‘Maa Saraswati’ by our honourable Principal Sir, Vice Principal ma’am, in-charge educators and few tiny tots for seeking knowledge and a prosperous life. This was followed by the information provided by the speech by few learners of standard 2nd and 6th about the celebration of the festival in different regions of India. After which a learner of Grade 7th showcased a beautiful dance presentation on Saraswati Vandana. This was followed by a beautiful recitation of poem by our learner of class 2nd.

As yellow colour symbolizes commitment, knowledge and creativity, the celebration reflected the vibrancy of life by wearing yellow coloured clothes, emulating the bright yellow mustard flowers in the fields.
