Updated: Sep 11, 2021

Ganesha, the elephant-headed Hindu god of beginnings. Also known as Vinayaka is worshipped every year to mark his arrival to earth from Kailash Parvat with his mother, Goddess Parvati. His arrival is celebrated as a grand festival through ten whole days. This festival begins on the day of Chaturthi in Hindu calendar and hence this auspicious day is celebrated as Ganesh Chaturthi. Be it in pandals, temples or homes, Ganesha Chaturthi is observed with immense happiness. People sing, dance, and light up fireworks. With the beautiful chant of mantras, arti, flowers, Ganesha is worshipped to bid farewell evil and begin new things. He is worshipped before any major enterprise and is the patron of intellectuals, bankers, scribes, and authors. Like a rat and like an elephant, Ganesha is a remover of obstacles. Hence in case of any new onset in one’s life Hindus pray to Lord Ganesha.

This year Ganesh Chaturthi befalls on 10th September. To mark his visit to earth, the learners of class 6th and 7th of our school took part in an Art Fest named “Creative Ganesha” which was organized on 8th September. In this Art Fest they prepared paintings, collage, craft, etc of Ganesha.
Since it was a Sit and Draw competition, arrangement was made to make all these learners sit in our assembly area maintaining proper distance to observe Covid-19 protocols. Not only learners but educators too participated in this competition. Winners were announced by the judges Ms. Jayshree and Ms. Manisha who came to the campus and thus results were announced same day. The winners among learners were
