Education - Changing Paradigms due to Covid-19 Pandemic

In the midst of the world crisis, one that we never anticipated, the education industry very promptly responded by changing its delivery mechanism to online/digital mode. During the period of lockdown, the schools have taken up virtual teaching using various platforms via Zoom meetings, Google meet, Google classroom etc. Though the virtual teaching is not a substitute to the regular classroom teaching, educators are putting in their best efforts to provide the academic assistance to their students ensuring that they get a platform to interact and continue with their learning.

With schools shut all across, the world of education has changed dramatically with the distinctive rise of e-learning and with teaching undertaken on digital platforms. Team Gajera school continues to focus on making learning fun and effective through the use of technology even in this uncertain environment with a wide range of activities planned for the students.

“Life is a journey with problems to solve and lessons to learn, but most of all, experiences to enjoy”, and it would not be wrong to say that the past few months have been a great learning experience for all of us. The present circumstances have brought us closer to the magical reality of a virtual world and to embrace it with open arms has become the need of the hour. Online classes have become the quintessential of the 2020 teaching pedagogy and their relevance in future is sure to multiply. Not only the teacher and the taught, but the parents also have contributed immensely in this journey of digital learning. Videos, PowerPoint presentations and content have been shared with the learners. “For those with poor or no internet connectivity, recorded videos of classes conducted are being sent to the learners. It is a formidable challenge for educators who have been thrown into this situation, but they have risen to the occasion remarkably,”

In the backdrop of such challenging situations, Gajera School aims at imparting knowledge through a connection especially conducive to the learning needs of students. Educators are constantly helping learners by sending content, worksheets, videos and solved questions. To make teaching and learning more convenient, educators are available to clear doubts. Class-wise groups are made where students can post their assignments and queries.

Each and every day of online learning has been a journey with our learners where we studied, played and explored newer avenues of learning together. This time when we all are maintaining social distancing, our learners and educators have connected with each other very well virtually. Overcoming the challenges we all adjusted to the new situations brilliantly like never before. Along with learning of scholastic and co-scholastic activities our learners and educators have mastered the use of technology as well. Be it taking online quizzes, solving worksheets, assessments, inter and intra school/class competitions, doing project work was accomplished by the Gajerians effortlessly.

“When the going gets tough, the tough get going”, No matter how difficult these days might seem, there is always a silver lining to the clouds. Adapting to the “new normal “where learning is happening today all across the globe in a virtual mode both in a synchronous and asynchronous way, we have all learnt. One thing is sure that this pandemic will bring a paradigm change in not just our education system but in our culture and habits too.

“Think out of the box and create a learning experience where the learner can interact with the content and their brains.”
