"Maha Shivratri"

"Lord Shiva is a Symbol, a possibility and a Source of tools to transform yourself and create your own life"

Every year Hindus celebrated Maha Shivaratri with great enthusiasm which means “the Great Night of Shiva”. It’s believed that Shiva came to this world to save it from “darkness and ignorance”. It was celebrated as Lord Shiva saved the world and his generosity. Since then, on this day devotees keep fast, keep vigil, sing songs praising Lord Shiva and meditate all night long. It was also considered as an occasion which inculcates the spiritual energy in a human body.

Gajera school was decorated beautifully like a temple. Our learners had made "Shivling" from mud. They had dressed up as ghosts; saints etc and join the "Shobha Yatra"with dancing and singing. All the learners did aarti and pooja. They offered water and milk over the shivling as prayer. Our educators and learners sang bhajans and chanted God's name with a lot of devotion.

Through such celebrations learners come forward to the worship of God and get aware of him. This festival is solemn and marks a remembrance of “ Overcoming darkness and ignorance” in life and the world.
