Nutrition Week Celebration

In our school, Shree H. J. Gajera English Medium School, Primary section, we observed Nutrition Week to acknowledge the importance of nutritious diet in our daily life. The week is observed to make the little learners understand the importance of nutritional and adaptive eating habits so that they can maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Parents try to feed healthy food to their children at home always, but due to the trend of eating fast food even they fall back due to the child’s tantrums. This trend has been set among many children by observing their peers. At present winter season is going on. In this season we get abundant amount of fresh fruits and veggies in the market. This is the time when a nutritious diet can be followed without any issue. To encourage the learners to follow healthy diet, we dedicated a whole week for it.

Day 1 was fruit day where the learners brought fruits in their lunch boxes. Day 2 was Sprouts day in which they brought cooked or uncooked sprouts in the form of salad or some item. Day 3 was salad day. Vegetables as well as fruits were brought by the learners in decorative way. For day 4 the learners brought their Mama’s Healthy Recipe. Day 5 was observed as winter special healthy food where the learners brought variety of healthy winter foods. The final day, day-6 was dedicated to the traditional Veg subji and roti where the roti was too of various forms. Some brought ragi roti, theplas, methi roti, etc among others. By the last day the learners too got encouraged to eat healthy food and now a trend has been set among many learners to eat healthy food during their lunch break in school.

So just follow the simple rule that “You are what you eat, so don’t be fast, cheap, easy, or fake.”
