World Food Day

Updated: Oct 17, 2022

World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year worldwide on 16 October to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945. A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. It protects you against many chronic non-communicable diseases. Eating a variety of foods and consuming less salt, sugars and saturated and industrially-produced trans-fats, are essential for healthy diet.

So, to show the awareness of healthy and nutrition food, our school Shree H. J. Gajera English Medium School, Primary Section, Katargam organised healthy food related activities and competition for all grades in one form or another. We organized these activities in the weekdays. As on 13th October for grades 3rd & 4th we organized Salad Decoration Activity for the learners. While on 14th October, for grades 1st & 2nd Motherchef Competition was there for the mothers of the learners and for grades 5th to 7th learners Masterchef - Cooking Without Fire Competition for the learners. In this competition they got awareness about healthy and delicious fireless cooking.

In this Motherchef Competition our beautiful and well aware mothers actively participated to show their talent about healthy and nutrition food. The learners of grade 3rd to 7th participated wholeheartedly in the activity as well as the competition to make this a success.

In addition to this, the learners also made food packets to distribute them for the less fortunate, so that they too have something good and healthy to eat in lieu of this day.
