World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nation to honour refugees around the world. It comes every year on June 20 to celebrate the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee from their home, country to escape conflict or persecution. World Refugee Day is an occasion to build empathy and understanding for their plight and to recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives.
The 2021 World Refugee Day theme is: Together we heal, learn and shine. 'No one is safe till everyone is safe' is the tagline or slogan for fighting the pandemic. Each year, World Refugee Day is marked by a variety of events in many countries around the globe in support of refugee. These activities are led by refugees themselves, goverment officials, host communities, companies. celebrities school students and genral public, among others.
UNHCR's World Refugee Day campaign this year is to remind the world that everyone including refugee can contribute to society and every action counts in the effort to create a more just, inclusive and equal world.

There are now nearly so million refugees and displaced people around the world. The International Rescue Commitee provides relief to millions in wars, other countries in crisis, where refugees countinue to seek safety and in their 26 resettlement offices.
It is aptly said that “Refugees didn’t just escape a place. They had to escape a thousand memories until they’d put enough time and distance between them and their misery to wake to a better day.”
